Devotee Karmaiti Bai a resident of Khandela in Sikar district of Rajasthan has become the ultimate Krishna devotee. The one who left home on the very first night of her marriage in love of Krishna and set out for Vrindavan on foot. According to the Bhaktamal Granth, after being hungry and thirsty for 18 days Lord Krishna himself appeared to him in the guise of a saint and made him receive the prasad.According to Bhaktamal, Karmaiti Bai was the daughter of Parshuramji who were priest of the Shekhawat king of Khandela . karmaiti bai was a Krishna devotee since childhood. At the age of 12 when her husband came to get her gauna done she left the house on the very first night knowing that the matrimonial bond was an obstacle in devotion to Shri Krishna and left for Vrindavan on foot.

According to the scripture when the king came to know about this, he sent his horsemen behind to catch Karmaiti Bai. when Karmaiti Bai saw them than she hid in the shell of a dead camel. In which she stayed for three days. When the horsemen returned disappointed then she came out. After this she reached Vrindavan with a group of sadhus. Where she started living in the devotion of Krishna at Brahmakund.

When karmaiti bai father got the news of her arrival in Vrindavan he reached Bramhakund to receive her. While seeing the meditative daughter in the dress of a monk shedding tears in the love of Shri Krishna, his heart also became emotional. Father Parshuram also became unconscious after seeing the daughter's love condition. When Karmaiti Bai's attention was broken the father told daughter Karmaiti about walking home and doing Shri Krishna bhajan. But saying 'Who has gone back after come here', he asked his father to return.

after this Karmaiti Bai took out the idol from the Yamuna river and gave it to her father with the teachings of devotion. After establishing him in Khandela, the father also started getting engrossed in the devotion of Krishna. When Shekhawat Raja came to know about this, he also went to Vrindavan to meet Karmaiti Bai after meeting Parshuramji. After returning, they also started getting engrossed in the devotion of Krishna.
When king came to know about this he also went to Vrindavan. he met Karmaiti Bai. Where she was found shedding tears in separation from Shri Krishna near Yamuna river.Due to the devotion of Karmaiti Bai the king's feelings also became devotional and with stubbornness he built a cottage for Karmaiti Bai near Brahmakund. Then after returning he also started getting engrossed in the devotion of Krishna.
